Middle East Bunkering Convention 2025 Celebrates 10th Anniversary in Dubai

2025: An inflection point for the bunker industry?

The Middle East Bunkering Convention (MEBC) is set to return to Dubai in February 2025, marking its 10th anniversary. This milestone event will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on the current state and future of the marine fuels sector, both globally and regionally.

Over the past decade, the bunkering industry has navigated a complex commercial landscape. Looking ahead, the sector faces heightened challenges, including geopolitical tensions and stringent environmental regulations that impact counterparty relationships and impose financial pressures on the shipping industry.

The 2025 convention will address critical issues such as decarbonisation strategies, the evolution of bunker supply infrastructure for both conventional and alternative marine fuels, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence and digitalisation in shipping. MEBC 2025 aims to equip marine fuel professionals with insights and strategies to tackle these challenges and seize emerging opportunities.

In conjunction with the convention, a special Dubai edition of the renowned Oxford Bunker Course will be offered. This four-day intensive programme caters to both newcomers and those with existing experience in shipping and marine fuels. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of the bunker industry, covering the perspectives of suppliers, sellers, buyers, and users, and offers insights into anticipated changes and challenges over the next five to ten years.

Participants of the Oxford Bunker Course will also have the opportunity to engage in the networking events of the Middle East Bunkering Convention, fostering connections and knowledge exchange within the industry.
